to Pays Neufchâtelois Committee of Patriotic Associations (CAPPN), chaired by Emil Vittekok, recently held an ordinary and extraordinary general meeting Neufchatel-en-Bray (Seine-Maritime).
In force, Emil Vittekokthe current president, announced his resignation at the end of the year.
I take the time to come up with potential successors. I sent 48 letters to members for someone to respond to. There are no candidates among the 16 people present today. I understand that everyone is getting older and that succession is difficult. Personally, I have been wanting to retire for many years. Today, I no longer have the health to continue the presidency.
Therefore, you can come until December 31, 2022 if you want to join the association. Emile Vittecoq continues:
In November, I sent my resignation letter and reports to the department level without responding so far. The last two years of the pandemic have been painful, with so many people no longer taking part in the protests. We canceled the Neufchâtel village hall and caterer for the May 8 banquet because we had only fifteen participants in the 60-80th place the other year. So we went to the restaurant.
To the committee?
The president of CAPPN is planning a tour and show at the theater in December.
But you always have to drive people to get an answer, so at some point I say stop.
The association will take part in various patriotic demonstrations of the municipality with its flag bearers as usual.
Perhaps there is an opportunity to set up a reconciliation committee between veterans and patriotic societies to address the shortage of aging volunteers and to continue the duty of remembrance?
