DUBAI, 27th July 2022 (WAM) – The Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) are organizing the 8th Green Economy Summit (WGES) on 28 and 29 September at the Dubai World Trade Center. . center.
WGES will be held alongside the 24th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and the Dubai Solar Show (DSS) organized by DEWA from 27 to 29 September.
Each year, the Summit attracts several local and international personalities, including heads of state and government, as well as a large number of international speakers, civil servants, representatives of government institutions, media representatives, experts and academics.
Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Energy Council of Dubai, MD and CEO of DEWA and Chairman of the World Green Economy Summit, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, noted that the WGES represents the efforts of the UAE and Dubai to strengthen regional and international cooperation and achieve climate. neutrality and accelerating the transition to a green economy.
“The goal is to ensure economic growth and the sustainability of natural and environmental resources. The goal of this WGES is to create effective change and find ways to meet the commitment on climate change, in line with the results of the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26). It also paves the way for 27 .the Conference of the Parties (COP27) in Egypt and the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to be hosted by the UAE at Expo City Dubai in 2023,” he added.
The WGES reflects the effective and influential role of the UAE in achieving sustainable low-carbon economic growth and securing a better future for humanity.
