How to adapt to increasingly specific climate change? Geographer Magali Reghezza-Zitt answers your questions

The heat wave that has hit France since Thursday reached its peak on Monday, but on Tuesday the heat wave is moving to the east of the country, with 73 departments still on orange alert. According to preliminary indicators obtained at At 17:00, the thermometer in Brest showed 39.3°C (against the previous record of 35.1°C in August 2003), 39.5°C in Saint-Brieux (38.1°C in August 2003). 42°C in Nantes (40.3°C in July 1949) or 42.6°C in Biscarrosse (41.7°C in June 2022).

The UK is also in the grip of an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures likely to top 40C on Tuesday. This heat wave also affects the whole of Western Europe, causing forest fires in Spain or Portugal as well.
