In celebration of the third season of Ludacris’ hit Netflix animated series Karma’s worldGrammy winner (né Chris Bridges) has partnered with Mattel to launch a brand new toy line featuring natural hair curls, diversity and more.
“Mattel has been so amazing with their performance compared to other toy brands,” says Ludacris Billboardmoments after the filming for the upcoming one was completed Quick X. “Mattel blew us away with their presentation, and one of the things that blew us away was that they hired someone specifically for black hair.”
The new toy collection, along with a range of dolls, is available for purchase at major retailers including Amazon, Target and Walmart, and includes Karma’s world stylish head accessory, Karma’s world microphone and more. With embedded messages of empowerment and creative expression, Karma’s world the children’s series was originally modeled after Ludacris’ eldest daughter, Karma Bridges.
“Me, Mattel and our sources took so much time to get the absolute most authentic hair feel and look with the highest quality,” Ludacris explains of the curly hair styling accessory. “Even the hair roots are superb. When you touch the hair and texture, you will be amazed by the quality development within the hair fiber.”
With the appearance Karma’s world, kids can enjoy the benefits of diversity and representation in and out of media unlike “back in the day,” Ludacris explains. “The more diversity and inclusivity I see on screen, the happier I’ll be – because that’s part of why I wanted to create the show. Karma’s world offered an opportunity to go mainstream in a way that some shows paved the way for me. I am very happy that we are seeing more and more of us on the screen.”
The Karma’s world The universe is expanding exponentially with a new line of toys and existing products including Daddy and Me and Rhyme to Be (Picture Karma’s world), The big Shine-A-Thon presentation book of chapters and Karma’s world soundtrack distributed by Universal Music Group.
“We’re in season three, and if everyone continues to love the show, maybe next season will be season four,” says Ludacris, who is also behind the creation KidNation, an online platform that provides useful music and video content for children. “KidNation is in beta, but we’re branching out and moving forward, so look out for more exciting things from KidNation as well.”
Fans can expect more in the sequel Karma’s world toys and dolls until the holiday season at the end of the year and clothes and bedding.
