Marion Phillips, III, joins American News and World Reports as Senior Vice President, Community Development and Diversity, Justice and Inclusion

WASHINGTON, April 28, 2022 / PRNewswire / – US News & World Report, the global consumer classification and advisory body, is pleased to announce that Marion Phillips, III he joined as its senior vice president for community development and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). A former senior vice president of community relations for Empire State Development (ESD), Phillips is tasked with aligning DEI’s corporate vision and supporting initiatives for American news community business strategies.

Marion Phillips was crucial for strengthening of the State of New York an innovation-based economy through partnerships, promoting equal economic opportunities for minority and women’s businesses, and ensuring that community organizations have a voice in important development projects, ”said the executive president of US News. Phillips joins American News with outstanding experience in connecting with community groups and other relevant organizations to raise awareness of key societal issues. For more than 20 years, he has formed coalitions at Empire State Development in support of large-scale projects and presented projects to community stakeholders, elected officials, and local communities. Phillips was previously Deputy Chief of Staff for Deputy Mayor for Planning and Community Relations and Director of Community Relations for the New York City Mayor’s Office, where he developed a community relations strategy for New York City and served as a liaison with city agencies reporting to the deputy mayor.

In addition to his leadership in community development, Phillips led the RFI process of the DEI Advisor for ESD and oversaw the resulting implementation plan to diversify the organization.
