Matt Fitzpatrick has insisted that his future remains in the PGA before this week’s memorial tournament, but he has to reconsider whether the LIV series will be a major tour.
The LIV series will start next week at the Centurion Club with a $ 25 million wallet, and Ficpatriks will not take part in the opening event.
“The tiger made a big point at the PGA in its press conference. He’s here to create a legacy and win tournaments and win major tournaments, and that’s kind of where I am, ”said Ficpatrick.
Rich Beam and Andrew Coltart reflect on the PGA Tour’s decision not to allow players to take part in LIV Golf events and what might happen in the future.
“And it was interesting, it was kind of, you know, to be honest, some tournaments I might not be in and I can’t win, so I mean, you know, well, at least for the better, I won so much this week. after the end of the tournament.
“I left the US PGA and I literally didn’t care what I won that week. I was just disgusted that I didn’t win. I had a chance and I didn’t take it and it told me a lot about me. It’s all about what I’m worried about here.
“You want to get records. I want to win tournaments, which is why I’m not interested in the LIV Golf genre right now.

He added: “Five years from now, if it suddenly becomes the main tour, then you are definitely rethinking your options.
“But right now, yes, I’m here to give myself the best chance to win tournaments, win major tournaments and pursue a career like this.”
Ficpatrik has not yet triumphed in the PGA Tour in his four years of membership, and hopes the US Open, which kicks off on June 16, could provide him with the perfect environment to finally win.
“It simply came to our notice then [at Memorial]. You return every year and the golf course is in pristine condition. It is undoubtedly one of the best we’ve played all year long, ”added the world rankings 15th.
“Yes, it feels good. So far it has been a good season and, as I said, I’ve played well in the last two tournaments I’ve played.
Matt Fitzpatrick talks about his failure to make the breakthrough PGA tour title and reflects on his impressive performance at the Wells Fargo Championship.
“It simply came to our notice then. The only time I played well was at another time of the year, and the golf course was very, very different, it was tight and fast. The other three times I’ve played or I’ve played it twice – well, in fact three times, I also think that the Workday Charity Open was very, very lovely and maybe not always played. my strengths so much.
“So yes, I will be interested to see how it goes this week and see how it really goes.
“The US Open seems to be my best of all four tournaments, and I think it says it all, what everyone knows is the US Open, and I think it’s something I liked more. than perhaps playing one of the Americans.PGA, where they were taller and softer, and they certainly didn’t always have lower scores, but just a little more, I think they’re different.
