Phygital era: Hyundai expands electrified IONIQ 6 experience into digital world with NFT suite

Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled a detailed plan for the IONIQ Citizenship Program, a service package for NFT owners of the IONIQ 6 Collection.

The recently launched NFT collection for IONIQ 6 is Hyundai’s second official series of non-fungible tokens to provide new experiences and create value, especially for Gen Y and Z customers. The personalized experience drivers and passengers expect from drivers and passengers. Hyundai’s new ‘Electrified Simplification’ – the company plans to extend the electrified IONIQ 6 experience into the digital world.

IONIQ Citizenship, a membership program dedicated to NFTs, aims to bring the exclusive electrified customer experience of the IONIQ line into a digital world where there are no physical boundaries. This program includes access to digital spaces, specific digital content and physical objects associated with IONIQ 6, and some services offered may vary depending on their rarity.

Specifically, the IONIQ 6 experience will be expanded through various partnerships, starting with virtual fashion gifting and VIP access to Planet Hyundai, Hyundai’s virtual space that opened in the ZEPETO metaverse in partnership with Naver Z. NFT holders will be able to exchange their gift card for a personal phone case from NFTYC (NFT Your Case), the world’s leading manufacturer of NFT phone cases and a subsidiary of global high-tech accessory brand CASETiFY. The company will then gradually offer an interactive virtual space for the IONIQ Digital Garage event for NFT holders.

The NFT Collection for the IONIQ 6 reflects the personalized customer experience offered by the vehicle’s modular interior. The company released 5,000 IONIQ 6 NFTs covering six different themes: driving pleasure, quiet driving, work, communication, care and entertainment.

Each NFT IONIQ 6 is an individual piece of art created in a generative format that randomly combines different backgrounds, exterior colors and objects, creating tens of thousands of possible combinations. The undersides of these NFTs reflect the organic interior of the IONIQ 6 and are inspired by the new two-tone mood lighting. Exclusive to NFT, the four colors of the IONIQ 6 reinforce the futuristic style that symbolizes the IONIQ line.

Hyundai wanted to distribute the NFT collection for the IONIQ 6 for free rather than sell it so that more people could participate in this unique experience.

Starting in August, Hyundai will continue to communicate the innovative experience of its IONIQ line through Capsule IONIQ, NFT’s newsletter aimed at strengthening community ties.
