World Rank 1 Pramod Bhagat and World Rank 3 Sukant Kadam will lead the Indian Parabinting Contingent in the Brazilian International Parabinting Tournament, which kicks off in São Paulo on Tuesday.

The BWF Para-Badminton International Level 2 event takes place after a two-year break.

Bhagat, who won gold at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, won two silver and bronze medals at the Spanish Para-Badminton Open last month.

Sukant Kadam, who won a bronze medal in Spain, said he saw the event as preparing for the upcoming big events.

“I train hard and the results are available to everyone. The Brazilian tournament is part of my preparations for the Asian Games and World Cups scheduled for later this year.

“Brazil will see the best talent come and I would like to play well in the tournament.”

Apart from Bhagata and Kadama, Manoy Sarkar, Tarun Dhillon, Parul Parmar, Nitees Rana, Manasi Joshi, Palaks Kohli and Nitja Sri are the other most popular Para Indian skirts to take part in the tournament.
