Stedelin has been appointed vice president of information technology and chief information officer

UNIVERSITY PARKS, PEN. – Jennifer Stedelin, Deputy Chief Information Officer of Penn State and Associate Vice President of Enterprise Systems and Services, from 1 July. appointed new Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the University of Information Technology (IT).

Stedelin will lead the university’s information technology company, including its direct oversight Penn State IT, which supports students, faculty and staff throughout the institution. It will provide strategic direction in services, support, infrastructure and administrative systems at the University’s academic colleges, 24 campus locations, including the World Campus, and other administrative units. Stedelin will join the university’s executive leadership on the Presidential Council and discuss issues related to the Board of Trustees.

Michael Büsges has been appointed interim vice president of information technology and chief information officer. Büsges will return to the post of senior provost adviser.

Stedelin from 2019 October month. was Associate Vice President of Enterprise Systems and Services at the University in 2021. November – Deputy Chief Information Officer. In this role, Stedelin helped oversee Penn State’s transition from a Box cloud-based storage solution to Microsoft Office 365 and led the removal of the University’s host and related applications.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led the rapid development of applications for contact tracking, case study, and testing, as well as developing a long-term strategy for contact search and case study that led to the deployment of the Salesforce Health Cloud.

Stedelin has also led the company’s systems and services team through organizational change, budget changes and strategic service restructuring.

She previously served as senior director of Penn State IT Strategic Operations since 2017. July. until 2019 month of January.

Her professional experience includes positions as an IT manager at Kent State University, the University of Washington at St. Louis and the University of Southern Illinois at Edwardsville.

Stedelin holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA from the University of Southern Illinois at Edwardville.
