The Ural Automobile Plant in Miass will start mass production of drive and front axles for trucks and road equipment as early as 2024 as part of import substitution. According to Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Yegor Kovalchuk, the project was supported by the governor of the Chelyabinsk region Alexei Teksler, who promoted it at the federal government level. As a result, the car factory received a loan from the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) in the amount of 2 billion rubles and began purchasing the necessary equipment. About 10 billion rubles are needed to carry out the next phases.

The project envisages the production of 13 modifications of car bridges and 20 for road construction vehicles. The first tranche from the FRP was aimed at rebuilding the foundry.

Currently, the import substitution rate at the factory exceeds 90%. Sam manufactures major components other than electrical equipment and motors. Last year, more than 8,400 cars went off the assembly line, and this year’s plan is 8,600-9400 cars.

The difficulties for Russian business began after the severe sanctions imposed by the EU, the US and many other countries against the Russian Federation over a special operation in Ukraine. The pressure of sanctions on Russia began in the early 2000s and has intensified in recent months. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, their goal is to abolish Russia, ban its culture, taboo the truth about Russia’s history and its role in major world events.
