Disclosures: Hassan and Rezaei report that they are on the board of the Retina World Congress.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – Kourous A. Rezaei, MD, will take over the role of President of the World Congress Retina after this year’s meeting.
During a presentation at the Retina World Congress, Rezaei thanked the current president Tarek S. Hassan, MD for his “exemplary leadership” in assisting RWC in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and other planning complications.

“We started this thing with the idea of having a meeting for the world around the world, and that was our guiding principle,” Hassan said. “You are all so involved in creating and implementing the program that it is truly unique in the world. There really isn’t. “
Hassan congratulated Rezaei on his new role, and Rezaei thanked the conference participants.
“This organization is primarily you and it is because of you that it is as successful as it is,” Rezaei said.
