With the new era of hybrid work starting on Monday, what are the “good reasons” to return to the office? – News center

Issy-Les-Moulineaux, 2022 March 16 – Microsoft today unveils the results of its annual Job Trends Index report, the International Job Trends Observatory. Research shows that this is not just a trend related to the health crisis hybrid work takes hold and forces leaders to redefine their model. They have big questions: what is the role of the workplace? How to build social capital in a digitally controlled world?

In this study, Microsoft experts and researchers looked at the aspirations of 31,000 people in 31 countries for the role of tomorrow’s office and technology. The Labor Trends Index highlights five major trends in the case of hybrid work:

1. Employees choose a new pro / personal equation

  • 48% of respondents in France are more likely to prioritize health and well-being at work than before a pandemic (compared with 53% worldwide).
  • 49% of the French generation Zers and Millennials would consider changing employer this year, 4% more than last year (compared with 43% in all age groups, 2% more). There are more of them in the world than every second (52%), ie 3%. more than 2021

2. Managers are distracted by the expectations of their managers and employees

  • 72% of managers in France would like to see more change in their team, but they lack the tools and autonomy to make decisions (compared to 74% of managers worldwide).
  • 48% of managers in France believe that their management team does not meet employee expectations (compared with 54% worldwide).
  • 52% of French executives fear that productivity has been affected by the transition to teleworking or mixed work (compared with 54% worldwide), and 81% of workers consider themselves more productive or productive.

3. Leaders need to make the workplace attractive

  • Only 26% of French leaders have developed a hybrid system to determine when and why to go to the office (compared with 28% of leaders worldwide).
  • 28% of hybrid workers say the biggest challenge for them is knowing when to work remotely and when to get to work (compared to 38% worldwide).

4. Flexibility does not mean “always online”

  • Weekly meeting time per employee has remained stable this year and has been stable since 2020. increased by more than 250% in March (global figures only).
  • The use of instant messaging has continued to grow over the last two years, with the number of messages sent per person increasing by 27% (global figures only).
  • 39% of French workers are ready to use digital inclusive spaces in a metaverse for meetings or team meetings next year. That number is rising to 52% worldwide.

5. Social capital that needs to be rethought in a hybrid world

  • 33% of people currently working in hybrid mode in France plan to move away completely next year (compared to 51% worldwide).
  • 49% of mixed workers have fewer social connections after starting mixed work (compared to 59% worldwide).
  • 48% of French executives say social communication is a major challenge for teleworking or mixed work (compared with 48% of leaders worldwide).

Based on the findings of the Work Trends Index, Microsoft today introduces 7 new Microsoft 365 integrated features for hybrid work:

  • Outlook RSVP : facilitate the organization of meetings by indicating whether you are attending in person or remotely.
  • Meeting Rooms with Front Row: A video gallery that appears at the bottom of the screen so participants can personally see colleagues connected remotely as if they were in the same room.
  • Surface Hub 2 with Smart Camera: The first Microsoft DI camera. It provides automatic cropping and image correction, as well as a wide field of view for those far away, regardless of room size and configuration.
  • Teams Connect: Collaborate seamlessly and securely with multiple organizations without changing the Teams environment.
  • PowerPoint Recording Studio : save presentations and share them with colleagues.
  • Cameo: A new feature that lets you decide how and where you appear on slides during a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Microsoft Viva Insights Inspiration Library: Share experiences with Microsoft best practices, as well as Harvard Business Review and coaching experts. Thrive.
