The Direction Générale des Loisirs initiated a day of discovery and entertainment in Banco National Park as an extension of the World Leisure Day celebrations on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in Abidjan-Yopougon.
This day of relaxation in this natural forest, which is the second in the world after Brazil, allowed participants to take part in double hiking and mountain biking, discover new cultures, shop for souvenirs, cultural and artistic events, open-air cinema, painting, sports, games …
Isabelle Anoh, Director-General for Leisure, said the aim of the initiative was to raise public interest and increase the sensitivity of the various people to modern and traditional leisure activities in Côte d’Ivoire. But also allow participants to get to know or accept other parts of Côte d’Ivoire’s culture.
“Today we have this celebration, a sample of all social groups in Côte d’Ivoire. And we want each of you to be able to discover and take part in various leisure activities. Because leisure has been proven to be a factor in human regeneration and affect people’s quality of life and health. . ”He hopes.
Tourism Minister Siandou Fofan has promised that leisure will become a vital sector of Côte d’Ivoire’s economy, as it is a factor in the regeneration of the human being, which affects people’s quality of life and health. To that end, it instructed the Directorate-General for Leisure to organize at least one rest period in the forest each month.
